Job 29 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Job is having a very hard time now. So he closes his eyes and remembers how good things used to be.

Today's Story

Job thinks back to the good old days, and a little smile comes to his face.

“I remember when God watched over me like a friend,” Job says. “His light shined on my path. My children were all around me. Everything was full and happy.”

But the part Job remembers best is not his big house or his animals. It is the kind things he got to do for other people.

“When poor people had no food, I helped them,” Job says. “When children had no mom or dad, I took care of them. I was like eyes for people who were blind, and like feet for people who could not walk. When a stranger needed help, I helped.”

People used to come to Job for good advice. When he spoke, they leaned in to listen. Job was gentle and fair, and everyone felt safe with him.

Job loved God, and that love spilled out into kindness for everybody around him.
