Job 30 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Yesterday Job remembered the happy old days. Today he says out loud how hard things feel right now.

Today's Story

Job has been remembering when life was good. But now he opens his eyes, and things are very different.

“But now,” Job says, and his voice is sad. People who used to look up to him now laugh at him and make fun. Job feels sore and tired. The nights feel long. He does not feel happy like he used to.

Worst of all, Job feels like God is far away. “I call out to You, God,” Job says, “but it feels like You are not answering me.”

That is a very hard feeling. But look closely at what Job is doing. Even while he feels sad and alone, Job is still talking to God. He is telling God exactly how he feels.

Job does not hide his sad feelings, and he does not turn away from God. He brings every single sad feeling straight to God, like a child climbing into a parent's lap to cry.

And that is always allowed. God is never too busy for your sad feelings.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. When was a time you felt sad? What helped you feel a little better?
  2. Job told God exactly how he felt, even the sad parts. Why do you think God wants to hear our sad feelings too?
  3. God is never too busy for you. How does it feel to know you can talk to Him any time, about anything?
