Job 42 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

This is the last chapter of Job's story. After all the hard days and all the big questions, here is how it ends.

Today's Story

Job had been through so many hard things. He had asked God so many questions. And then God came close and showed Job how big and wonderful He is.

Now Job talks to God again, but he sounds different. Softer. Happier.

“I know that You can do anything,” Job says. “There are things too wonderful for me to understand. I used to only hear about You. But now my own eyes have seen You.”

Job still doesn't know every answer to why his hard days happened. But he doesn't need to anymore. He has something better: he knows God, and he knows God was with him the whole time and never left.

And then God does something wonderful. He blesses Job again — even more than before! Job's family and friends gather around him. They eat together and laugh together. God gives Job new animals, more than he ever had. God gives Job seven sons and three daughters, and the daughters are the most beautiful in all the land.

Job lives a long, full, happy life, surrounded by people who love him. The God who walked with Job through the hard days walked with him into the good days too.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. Job had a really hard time, and then a happy ending. Has anything hard ever turned out okay for you in the end?
  2. Job said he used to only hear about God, but now he had really seen Him. What is one way you have come to know God is real and good?
  3. Job trusted God even before he understood why things happened. What is something hard right now that you could choose to trust God with?
