After feeding thousands with a boy's lunch, Jesus says something amazing about Himself: “I am the bread of life.”
Today's Story
A huge crowd had followed Jesus, and He fed all five thousand of them with one boy's little lunch — five loaves and two fish. Everyone ate until they were full!
The next day, the crowd came looking for Jesus again — they wanted MORE free bread! But Jesus wanted to give them something even better than bread for their tummies.
“Don't just work for food that runs out,” Jesus said. “Work for the food that lasts forever.” Then He told them who He really is: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty.”
Real bread fills your tummy for a few hours, then you're hungry again. But JESUS fills the deepest part of you — your heart and soul — forever. He's the only One who can truly satisfy us.
Some people walked away because it was hard to understand. But Jesus' closest friends stayed. “Lord, where else would we go?” said Peter. “You have the words of life.”
A Big Word

Talk About It
- Jesus said He's the “bread of life” who fills us up forever. What things do we try to fill our hearts with that don't really last?
- The crowd wanted more free bread, but Jesus offered something better. What's the better thing Jesus gives?
- When some people walked away, Peter said, “Where else would we go?” Why is Jesus worth staying with?
