Joshua 11 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Joshua faces his biggest challenge yet — many kings joining together — and shows us what full obedience looks like.

Today's Story

Many enemy kings in the north heard about Israel and got scared. So they all joined together into one huge army, with horses and chariots, as many as the sand on the seashore! It was the biggest army Israel had ever faced.

But God told Joshua, “Don't be afraid of them. I will help you.” And just as God promised, He gave Israel the victory, even over that giant army. God was bigger than any number of enemies.

Here's the most important thing the Bible says about Joshua: he did EVERYTHING the Lord had commanded. He didn't leave anything out, or do it halfway, or pick and choose. Whatever God said, Joshua obeyed completely. That's why God blessed him.

Bit by bit, town by town, God gave His people the whole land He had promised. After many years, the land finally had rest. Obeying God all the way — not just the easy parts — is how we follow Him faithfully.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. Joshua obeyed God completely, not halfway. What's the difference between obeying all the way and obeying just a little?
  2. Israel faced a huge army, but God helped them win. When something feels too big, how does it help to remember God is bigger?
  3. God kept every promise, bit by bit. Why is it good to trust God even when things take time?
