Joshua 21 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

As the land is finally settled, the Bible gives us one of the most comforting sentences in the whole story.

Today's Story

The dividing of the land was complete. Every tribe had its home. The Levites, who served God, were given towns scattered throughout all the tribes, so that God's helpers and teachers would be close to everyone, everywhere.

And then the Bible says something so beautiful, it's worth stopping to treasure. It says: “Not one of all the Lord's good promises failed. Every single one came true.”

Think about that! God had made SO many promises to His people, way back to Abraham, hundreds of years before - promises about a land, a home, a future. And now, looking back, the people could see: God had kept EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Not one promise was forgotten. Not one fell through. They ALL came true.

That's the kind of God we have! When God makes a promise, He keeps it - always, completely, every time. Whatever God has promised you in His Word, you can be sure: He will keep it.

  1. Not ONE of God's promises failed - they all came true! How does that help you trust God?
  2. God kept promises made hundreds of years before. Why can we trust God even when we have to wait a long time?
  3. God always keeps His word. What is a promise from God you want to hold onto?
