Joshua 23 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Joshua is very old now, and he gathers all the people for one last, loving message.

Today's Story

Joshua had lived a long, full life, and now he was very old. He knew it was almost time for him to go and be with God. So he called together all the leaders and people of Israel to share his most important words, one last time.

“Look at everything the Lord has done for you!” Joshua said. “He fought your battles. He kept every promise. Not one good thing He promised has failed. God has been so faithful to you!”

Then Joshua gave them his heartfelt advice: “So be very careful to LOVE the Lord your God. Hold tightly to Him! Stay close to Him, follow His Word, and don't drift away to other things. If you keep loving and following God, He will keep blessing you.”

Joshua wanted the people he loved to remember the most important thing of all: stay close to God. Don't let go of Him. That's still the best advice anyone could ever give: hold tightly to God, and love Him with all your heart.
