God promises a special baby boy who will be set apart for Him from the very start.
Today's Story
God's people were in trouble again, this time from the Philistines. There was a husband and wife who had no children, and they were very sad about it. But one day, the angel of the Lord appeared to the wife with wonderful news! “You're going to have a baby boy! And he will be special, set apart for God to help rescue God's people.”
The angel gave some special instructions: the boy was to be a “Nazirite,” which meant he was dedicated to God in a special way. As a sign of this, his hair was never to be cut. His long hair would be a reminder that he belonged to God for a special purpose.
The husband and wife were amazed and thankful. They worshiped God, and soon their baby boy was born. They named him Samson. As Samson grew, God blessed him, and God's Spirit began to stir in him.
God had set Samson apart for Himself before he was even born. And God has a special purpose for YOU, too. You are God's, made for a reason!
