Leviticus 24 for Kids

God kept a lamp shining and fresh bread ready in His holy tent — gentle pictures that He is always near.

Today's Story

Inside God's holy tent stood a beautiful golden lampstand. God told the people, “Keep the lamps burning all the time, day and night. Never let the light go out.”

So every morning and every evening, a priest came and trimmed the lamps and added fresh oil. The little flames glowed warm and steady, never going dark. It was a gentle picture that God is always there, always shining, always near.

Close by stood a golden table. On it sat twelve fresh loaves of bread — one loaf for each of God's twelve family groups. Every week the priests baked new bread and set it before God, a quiet way of saying, “Thank You for caring for all of us.”

God also reminded the people that His name is precious and should always be spoken with love, and that His rules are fair — the same for everyone, big or small.

A light that never goes out. Fresh bread, week after week. God was showing His people He would never leave them in the dark, and He would always take care of them.
