The disciples ask Jesus to teach them something they really wanted to learn: how to pray.
Today's Story
One day, the disciples watched Jesus praying. When He finished, they said, “Lord, teach us to pray!”
So Jesus taught them a special prayer. He said to pray like this: “Father in heaven, may Your name be honored. May Your kingdom come. Give us the food we need today. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive others. And keep us from what is wrong.” Jesus showed us that we can talk to God as our loving Father.
Then Jesus taught them to never give up praying. “Imagine knocking on a friend's door at night because you need bread,” He said. “Keep knocking, and your friend will help. God is even better than that! So ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened.”
Jesus said God is a good Father who loves to give good gifts to His children. We can always come to Him, talk to Him, and keep asking with trust.
