Matthew 11 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Jesus gives one of the most comforting invitations in the whole Bible — and it's for you.

Today's Story

Jesus knew that people get tired. Not just sleepy-tired, but heart-tired — worn out from worries, from trying so hard, from carrying heavy loads on the inside.

So Jesus opened His arms wide and gave a beautiful invitation. “Come to Me, all of you who are tired and carrying heavy loads,” He said. “And I will give you rest.”

It's like carrying a heavy backpack. We try to carry our worries and troubles all by ourselves, and it wears us out. But Jesus says, “Give your heavy load to Me. Walk with Me instead. I am gentle and humble in heart, and you'll find rest for your souls.”

What a wonderful invitation! When we're worried, sad, or worn out, we don't have to carry it all alone. We can come to Jesus, and He gives us rest.
