Jesus gives His twelve helpers an important job — and a promise that takes away their fear.
Today's Story
Jesus chose twelve special helpers, called apostles, and gave them an exciting job. “Go and tell people the good news,” He said. “Heal the sick, help the hurting, and share God's love everywhere you go.”
Then Jesus gave them a wonderful rule: “You received freely, so give freely.” God had given them so much love — and now they could give it away to others!
Jesus knew their job wouldn't always be easy. Some people wouldn't listen. So He gave them courage. “Don't be afraid,” Jesus said. “Look at the little sparrows. Not one of them falls to the ground without your Father knowing. And you are worth far more than many sparrows! God even knows the number of hairs on your head. So don't be afraid — God is watching over you.”
The twelve went out, full of courage, to share God's love.
