Jesus tells His friends a wonderful secret: one day He's coming back — so we should always be ready.
Today's Story
One day, sitting on a hillside, Jesus told His disciples something amazing about the future. “One day,” He said, “I am going to come back!” Jesus had to go away for a while, but He promised He would return one day in great glory, for everyone to see.
The disciples asked, “When will that be?” Jesus said, “No one knows the exact day or hour — only God the Father knows. So the most important thing is to always be ready and keep watch.”
Jesus said it's like a family waiting for a loved one to come home. They don't know the exact moment, so they stay ready all the time. “Keep watch,” Jesus said. “Be ready, because I will come at a time you don't expect.”
How do we get ready? By loving God, obeying Him, and being kind every day — living the way Jesus taught us. We don't have to be afraid. We just stay ready, like a child excited and watching for someone they love to come home.
