Numbers 33 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Before they finally reach their new home, Moses writes down a list of every place God's people stopped along the way.

Today's Story

God's people had been walking for a long, long time. Now they were almost home. So Moses did something special. He took out a pen and made a list.

He wrote down every single place they had camped. The place where they crossed the sea. The place where the water came out of the rock. The place with the tall mountain. Stop after stop after stop — Moses wrote them all down.

It was like a travel diary of their whole big trip! Some stops were happy. Some were hard. But here is the wonderful part: God was with them at every single one. He led them by day and watched over them by night.

Not one stop was forgotten. Not one day was a day God let them get lost. The long list was really a list of all the times God took care of His people.

Now the very last stop was right beside the river. On the other side was the new home God had promised them all along. They had almost made it — with God leading every step.

A Big Word

Talk About It

  1. What is a trip your family has taken? Can you remember some of the places you stopped?
  2. Moses wrote down every stop so they would remember God was with them. What is something good God has done that you want to remember?
  3. God was with His people at every stop, even the hard ones. How does it feel to know God is with you everywhere you go?
