God's people are almost in their new home — so God shows them exactly where it begins and ends, and how everyone will get a share.
Today's Story
God's people were so close to their new home now. They could almost see it across the river. But how would they know which parts were theirs?
So God spoke to Moses like a kind father drawing a map. “Here is where your home begins,” God said. “The edge runs along the water over here, and up to the hills over there, and along the great sea on this side.”
God drew the whole shape of the land with His words — the top edge, the bottom edge, and both sides. It was a real place, with rivers and mountains and room to grow.
Then God picked special helpers, one leader from each family. Their job was to share the land out fairly. God wanted every single family to get a piece. No one would be left out. No one would be forgotten.
God had been planning this home for His people for a very long time. And now He was getting it ready, just for them.
A Big Word
Talk About It
- What is your favorite spot in your home? What makes it feel like yours?
- God made sure every family got a piece of the new land. Why do you think it mattered to God that no one was left out?
- How can we help someone feel like they belong and have a place with us?
