This is the end of Paul's happy letter. He saves some of the best, most comforting words for last.
Today's Story
Paul was almost done with his letter. He wanted to leave his friends with words they would never forget.
“Always be full of joy because you belong to the Lord,” Paul wrote. “I'll say it again. Be full of joy!” He said it twice so they would really remember.
Then Paul gave them something to do when they felt worried or scared. “Don't worry about anything,” he said. “Instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him.”
And when we pray, Paul said, God gives us a peace so big we cannot even understand it. It guards our hearts like a soft, warm blanket.
Paul learned a wonderful secret in his hard times. He learned he was never alone and never too weak, because God was always helping him.
So Paul wrote the words people still love today: “I can do all this through Christ who gives me strength.”
What a happy way to end a happy letter!
