Paul keeps writing his happy letter. Today he tells God's family about the best treasure in the whole world.
Today's Story
Have you ever had something you thought was the very best — until you found something even better?
That happened to Paul. Long ago, Paul thought he was very important. He had lots of things he was proud of. He thought those things were his greatest treasure.
Then Paul met Jesus. And everything changed!
Suddenly all the things Paul used to brag about did not seem so special. Knowing Jesus was so much better. “I count all those other things as nothing,” Paul wrote, “compared to knowing Jesus.”
Jesus was Paul's real treasure now. Knowing and loving Jesus was the best thing he had ever found.
So Paul said he would keep running toward Jesus, like a runner racing to the finish line. “I keep on going,” he wrote, “to reach the prize God has for me.”
Paul did not look back at the old things. He looked ahead, toward Jesus, and kept on going with joy.
