Philippians 2 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Paul keeps writing his happy letter to God's family. Today he shares the best way to live together: by thinking of others first.

Today's Story

Paul wanted God's family to be happy together. So he told them a secret for getting along.

“Don't only think about yourselves,” Paul wrote. “Think about other people too. Care about what they need.”

Then Paul told them about Someone who did this perfectly — Jesus.

Jesus is the King of everything. He could have stayed up in heaven where it was wonderful. But Jesus chose to come down and become a little baby. He grew up and served people. He helped them and healed them and loved them.

Jesus put everyone else first, all the way. He gave up so much so that we could be God's friends forever.

And do you know what God did? God lifted Jesus up high and gave Him the greatest name of all. One day every knee will bow and say, “Jesus is Lord!”

Paul says we can be like Jesus. When we share, help, and put others first, we are doing exactly what Jesus did.
