Proverbs 19 keeps the wise sayings coming - about being honest, being patient instead of grumpy, and being kind to people who don't have much.
Today's Story
Proverbs 19 starts with a surprise: it's better to be poor and honest than to be rich and a liar. Money can't buy a good, honest heart - and an honest heart is worth more than all the money in the world.
Then it gives advice about feelings: “A person's wisdom makes them patient. They will be honored if they forgive someone who sins against them.” Wise people don't blow up the second something goes wrong. They take a breath. They let little things go.
And then comes one of the kindest sayings in the whole Bible: “Anyone who is kind to poor people lends to the Lord. God will reward them for what they have done.”
Think about that! When you share with someone who doesn't have much - a kid with no lunch, a person who is cold - it's like you are giving a gift straight to God Himself. And God always remembers.
So be honest, be patient, and be kind to people in need. God sees every bit of it.
