Psalm 111 is a short, happy thank-you song. It says God does wonderful things - and they are worth stopping to think about.
Today's Story
“Praise the Lord!” This song bursts out happy from the very first word.
The singer says, “I will thank God with my whole heart!” Not just a little - with all of it.
Then he tells us why. God does wonderful things, the song says. And the best part is what comes next: “People who love them think about them.”
That means the wonderful things God does are worth stopping to look at. Like when you find a smooth rock or a perfect leaf, and you turn it over and over in your hands. That is how we should treat the good things God does - really notice them.
The song lists some: God gives food to people who are hungry. God always keeps His promises. God is kind and fair, and what He does lasts forever.
Then it ends with a famous line. Loving and honoring God, the song says, is where being truly wise begins. If you want to grow up smart and good, start there - start with God.
