Psalm 138 is King David's big thank-you to God. He had asked God for help, God answered, and now David cannot stop saying thank You.
Today's Story
King David had a heart so full of thanks that it spilled out into a song.
“I will thank You with my whole heart, God,” he sang. Not half his heart. Not just a little corner. His whole heart.
David remembered a hard day when he had been scared and worried. He had called out to God for help. And God had answered him! Better still, God put a new kind of brave inside David, so he felt strong again right where he had felt weak.
Then David sang about something wonderful. God is greater than anything - higher than the sky, bigger than the whole world. And yet God still notices the small, quiet ones that everybody else walks right past. God leans in close and cares for them.
David finished with a promise he trusted. “God, I know You will finish the good thing You started in me. You made me, and You will not give up on me. Your love lasts forever.”
So David lifted his head and thanked God, with his whole heart, out loud.
