Psalm 144 is King David's thank-you song. God is his strong helper, and David is amazed that the great big God cares about small people like him.
Today's Story
King David had won battles and faced scary things. And he knew he had never done it alone.
So he sang a thank-you song. “I praise You, God!” he said. “You are my Rock. You are strong, and You make me strong too. You are like a safe castle I can run into. You keep me safe.”
Then David stopped and thought about something amazing. The God who made the whole sky and all the stars - that same God knew David's name and cared about his day.
“God, what are people, that You even think about us?” David said. “We are so small, like a little puff of breath on a cold morning. But You still love us!”
And then David began to dream about good things. He pictured kids growing up strong and tall, like healthy plants in a garden. He pictured full barns and happy animals and families laughing together.
“How happy the people are,” David said, “whose God is the Lord!”
