Psalms 145 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Psalm 145 is one of King David's biggest praise songs. He can't stop telling everyone how good and kind God is to every single thing He made.

Today's Story

King David was so happy about God that he just had to sing.

“I will praise You, my God and King,” he sang. “Every day, I will tell how great You are. You are so great that we can never reach the end of how wonderful You are!”

David wanted everybody to know. “Grown-ups, tell the kids,” he said. “And kids, when you grow up, tell your kids! Let everyone hear about the amazing things God has done.”

Then David sang the best part. “The Lord is kind and full of love. He is not quick to get angry. He is good to everyone, and He cares about everything He made.”

David pictured all the hungry creatures in the world - the birds, the fish, the deer, the bugs, the children. “Everyone is looking to You, God,” he said. “And You open Your hand and give them the food they need, right when they need it.”

“God is close to everyone who calls out to Him,” David finished. “He hears them. He helps them.”

And David promised to praise God forever and ever.

Talk About It

  1. David could not stop praising God. If you had to tell a friend one wonderful thing about God, what would you say?
  2. God opens His hand and feeds every creature - birds, fish, deer, and you. What food are you thankful God gives you?
  3. God is “good to all” and cares about everything He made. How can you be kind to one of God's creatures or one of God's people today?
