Psalm 41 is a song King David sang about how God loves it when we take care of people who are weak or hurting - and how God took care of David too.
Today's Story
King David noticed something wonderful about God. God pays special attention to people who help the weak - the ones who are little, or sick, or having a really hard time.
“Blessed is the person who cares about those who are weak,” David sang. When you stop to help someone who can't help themselves, God sees it, and He is so pleased. He promises to look after you the way you looked after them.
Then David shared his own story. There was a time when David was sick in bed and feeling low. And on top of that, a friend he had trusted was unkind to him. That hurt his heart twice over.
But David didn't stay sad and alone. He prayed, “Lord, be kind to me.” And God was. God stayed close. God held David up and kept him safe, because David belonged to Him.
By the end of the song, David was praising God again. He knew that no matter what, God would never let go of him.
