Psalms 44 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Psalm 44 is a song God's whole family sang together. They remembered the amazing things God did long ago, and they asked Him to help them again.

Today's Story

God's people gathered together to sing, and they started by remembering. “God, our grandparents told us the stories,” they sang. “We have heard what wonderful things You did for them, long, long ago.”

God had taken care of His people again and again. He helped them and kept them safe, not because they were so strong, but because He loved them and held them in His strong, kind hand.

But right now, the people were having a really hard time. Things were not going well, and they felt sad and worn out. They didn't hide it from God - they told Him exactly how they felt.

“God, please wake up and help us!” they cried. “Don't forget about us. Come and rescue us, because You love us so much.”

Even when life was hard, the people still trusted God. They knew the same God who helped their grandparents was listening to them right now - and His love had not gone anywhere.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. God's people remembered stories their grandparents told them. What is a story about God that someone in your family has told you?
  2. The people told God exactly how they felt, even the hard parts. Is there something hard you want to tell God about right now?
  3. They asked God to help because He loves them. How does it feel to know God's love for you never runs out?
