Psalm 46 is a calm, strong song for scary days. It says that no matter what shakes around us, God is our safe place.
Today's Story
Have you ever heard a really loud storm? The thunder booms, the wind howls, and you want to run somewhere safe.
This song says God is our safe place. “God keeps us safe and makes us strong,” it sings. “He is always there to help when trouble comes.”
Then the song says something amazing. “Even if the mountains shook and fell into the sea, even if the water roared and crashed - we will not be afraid. Because God is with us.”
The song paints a different picture too. It tells about a calm, happy city with a gentle river running through it. The water is quiet and clear, and the people are not scared, because God lives right there with them.
Then God Himself says something. He says, “Be still. Stop and rest. Remember that I am God. I am bigger than anything that scares you.”
So when your heart is pounding, you can stop. Take a breath. And remember: God is right here, holding you safe.
