Psalm 66 is a happy, shouting song. It invites the whole world to come look at the amazing things God has done - and then to thank Him.
Today's Story
When something amazing happens, what do you do? You probably run to find someone and shout, “Come and see! Come look at this!”
That is exactly what this song does. It begins, “Shout to God for joy, everybody, everywhere! Sing about how wonderful His name is! Tell Him, ‘God, the things You do are amazing!’”
Then the song says the best part: “Come and see what God has done! Come and look at the wonderful things He does for people!”
The singer remembers a time long ago when God helped His people cross right through the water on dry ground to keep them safe. God is so strong! He had been taking care of His people for a very, very long time.
Near the end, the song gets quiet and gentle, like someone leaning in to tell you a secret. The singer says, “Come close and listen, and I will tell you what God did for ME. I prayed to Him - and He heard me! He listened, and He was kind to me.”
God does amazing things for the whole world. And He does amazing things for one little you, too.

- The song says, “Come and see what God has done!” What is one good thing God has done that you would want to show someone?
- At the end, the singer says God heard his prayer. Can you think of a time you prayed and God helped you?
