Psalm 65 is a big thank-You song. It thanks God for hearing our prayers and for filling the whole world with good things to enjoy.
Today's Story
Have you ever wanted to say thank You so much that it almost felt too big to fit in your mouth? That is how this whole song feels.
It begins like this: “God, You deserve our praise! You hear us when we pray. You forgive us and make our hearts clean. How happy are the people who get to be close to You!”
Then the song looks all around at the wonderful world God made. It thanks God for the great big sea and the tall mountains. It thanks Him for catching every sunrise and every sunset.
And then it sings about rain. “You take care of the land and water it. You fill the rivers. You send rain so the seeds can grow and there is plenty of food for everyone.”
Can you picture it? Soft rain falling. Little green plants popping up. Fields turning gold with grain. Sheep dotting the hills like fluffy clouds.
The song even says the hills are so happy they wear joy like a belt, and the fields and valleys shout and sing! Everything God made is saying thank You. And we get to join in.
A Big Word

Talk About It
- What is one good thing you ate or drank today? Where do you think it came from before it got to your plate?
- The song says the hills and fields sing for joy. If the things God made could sing thank You, what do you think they would say?
- God gives us “more than enough.” What is something you have plenty of that you can thank Him for?
