Psalms 7 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Psalm 7 is a song King David sang when someone was being very unfair to him, and he ran to God for help.

Today's Story

Someone was being really unfair to King David. They were saying things that weren't true and trying to get him in trouble for stuff he didn't even do. It hurt, and it wasn't fair.

So where did David go? Not to get even. He ran straight to God. “Lord, I come to You to keep me safe,” he prayed. “You know my heart. You know I'm telling the truth.”

David remembered something important: God is the fairest Judge in the whole world. A judge is someone who listens carefully to both sides and then does what is right. And God never gets it wrong - He sees what really happened, every time.

David said God is like a shield, holding His cover over everyone who has an honest heart. So David didn't have to fix it all by himself. He could leave it in God's hands and trust Him to sort it out.

And by the end of the song, David wasn't worried anymore. He was singing a thank-you to God for being so good and so fair.
