Psalms 6 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Psalm 6 is a song King David sang on a very sad day, when he felt worn out and his tears would not stop.

Today's Story

Have you ever felt so sad that you cried and cried? That is exactly how King David felt when he sang this song.

David was worn out. He was tired all the way down to his bones. At night he cried so much that he said his pillow was wet with tears. It was one of the hardest, heaviest days he had ever had.

But David did not hide his tears or pretend he was fine. He brought every single one of them straight to God. “Be kind to me, Lord,” he prayed. “I am so weak. Please come and help me.”

And then, in the middle of all that crying, something changed in David's heart. He remembered the truth: God was listening the whole time. God saw every tear. So David said, “The Lord has heard my crying. The Lord has heard my prayer.”

The sad feelings did not vanish all at once. But now David knew he was not alone. God was right there with him, holding him close.
