Psalm 73 is a very honest song by a man named Asaph. He admits that he once felt that life seemed unfair - and he tells how God helped him see things in a brand new way.
Today's Story
Have you ever looked at someone who does not even care about God and thought, “Hey, that's not fair! Why do things go so easy for them?”
A man named Asaph felt exactly that way. He looked around and it seemed like people who ignored God had everything they wanted - and he was trying so hard to do what was right. It made his heart feel grumpy and sad. He almost slipped, like feet sliding on ice.
But Asaph was honest with God about it. And then he did a wise thing: he went into God's house to be quiet and worship. And there, God helped him understand.
Asaph saw the bigger picture. Things that look shiny and easy don't last. But being close to God - that lasts forever, and it is worth more than anything.
Then Asaph said one of the most beautiful things in the whole Bible. He prayed, “Whom do I have in heaven but You? There is nothing on earth I want more than You.”
He finished his song sure and steady: “Even when I feel weak, God is the strength of my heart. He is all I need, forever.”

- Asaph felt better after he got quiet with God. What is a quiet place where you could talk to God when your heart feels grumpy?
- Asaph said God was all he really needed. What is one good thing about God that money could never buy?
