Zechariah 10 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

In this picture, God is like a good shepherd who takes care of His sheep — and the sheep are His people.

Today's Story

God told His people something to make their hearts glad. He cares for them the way a good shepherd cares for his sheep.

“Ask Me for rain,” God said, “and I will send it. I will make the fields green and growing.” God loves to give good gifts to His people.

Then God said something kind about the people who felt weak and tired and far from home. “I have not forgotten them. I love them. I will make them strong. I will bring them home with joy.”

A good shepherd does not leave even one little sheep behind. If a lamb is lost, the shepherd goes and finds it. If a lamb is weak, the shepherd carries it. That is how God is with His people.

God promised, “I will gather them up. I will whistle for them, and they will come running back like happy children. There will be so much joy — like a heart that is glad and dancing.”

The weak ones would become brave. The sad ones would become happy. Because the Good Shepherd was taking care of them, and He would never let them go.
