Luke 13:20 Meaning and Explanation

Jesus repeats the question, as a teacher with more than one window to open. Luke often pairs his pictures — a man sowing in verse 19, now a woman baking — so that hearers in every household find the kingdom imaginable in their own daily work.

The repeated question also teaches by itself: no single image exhausts the kingdom of God. It is like seed, like leaven, like treasure, like a feast — each parable true, none complete. The Lord stoops to compare the things of heaven with a garden and a kitchen, so that ordinary people in ordinary days can recognize His reign when it begins to work in them.
