What Does Luke 19:13 Mean?
A pound, a mina, came to about three months of wages, a workable but modest trust. Each servant receives the same sum and the same command: occupy, that is, trade with it, put it to work. The master asks not for safekeeping but for enterprise during his absence.
The verse describes the season between the departure of the Lord and his return, which is to say, it describes now.
