What Does Luke 23:45 Mean?
While darkness holds outside, something gives way inside the temple: the great curtain screening the most holy place, which only the high priest passed, once a year, and never without blood (Hebrews 9:7).
At the hour of Jesus' dying, the barrier opens. The letter to the Hebrews exults in the meaning: believers have “boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way... through the veil” (Hebrews 10:19-20).
