What Does Luke 24:39 Mean?
Jesus answers their fear with his own body. He shows the hands and the feet — the places of the nails — and invites touch: handle me, and see. A spirit, he says, does not have flesh and bones as they can see he has.
The resurrection is bodily and real. It is I myself — the same Jesus who was crucified, not a phantom or a memory, alive with flesh and bones that can be touched.
