What Does Luke 8:25 Mean?
After the calm comes the question: where is your faith? Their fear changes object; afraid now with wonder, they ask one another, what manner of man is this, for He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him.
He does not ask whether they have faith but where it went, for they had trusted Him enough to board at His word. The right awe replaces the wrong alarm. Their question is the question of the whole Gospel, and the storm itself has answered it: He commands what only God commands. Faith is trusting the One in the boat more than the weather around it.
