The upheaval deepens: stars falling, the powers of heaven shaken. The language again follows the prophets — Isaiah saw the host of heaven dissolve and the sky rolled up like a scroll. Sun, moon, and stars, which the nations around Israel worshiped as gods, are unseated together in a moment.
