What Does Mark 16:12 Mean?
Mark compresses what Luke unfolds (Luke 24:13-35): two downcast disciples leaving Jerusalem, a stranger who joins them and opens the Scriptures until their hearts burn, and the moment of recognition in the breaking of bread. 'In another form' — they did not know him at first; their eyes were held until the appointed moment.
