What Does Mark 16:19 Mean?
Mark closes the earthly ministry with the ascension (Acts 1:9-11). The risen Jesus does not simply fade from view; he is 'received up' — welcomed, enthroned — and seated at the right hand of God, the place of highest honor promised to the Messiah in Psalm 110:1.
A seated Lord is a Lord whose offering is finished and whose reign has begun (Hebrews 1:3; 10:12). The crucified man of Nazareth now occupies the highest place in heaven, and he lives there for his people — able to save to the uttermost, ever interceding for those who come to God by him (Hebrews 7:25).
