What Does Mark 16:2 Mean?
The sabbath had kept them home; first light finds them already moving. Mark marks the time twice — very early, at the rising of the sun — on the first day of the week. They are headed for the rock-hewn tomb where Joseph of Arimathaea had laid the body of Jesus (Mark 15:46).
