What Does Mark 16:3 Mean?
Tombs of this kind were sealed with a great stone rolled across the entrance, and the women had seen it set in place (Mark 15:46-47). Three of them together could not hope to move it. Yet they keep walking, voicing on the road a problem they have no way to solve.
It is a picture of honest, persevering love — continuing the errand while carrying a question you cannot answer. They do not turn back because the way looks blocked. So often the obstacle we rehearse on the road has already been dealt with before we arrive. Faith does not need the whole path cleared in advance; it needs only enough light to take the next step toward the Lord.
