Then Peter looks away from Jesus to the raging wind around him. Fear rushes in, his footing fails, and he begins to sink beneath the waves. In that sinking moment he cries out the shortest of prayers: Lord, save me. His eyes had left his Master, but his heart still knew where to turn.
