What Does Matthew 22:9 Mean?
With the feast prepared and the first guests gone, the king flings the doors wide: go where the streets leave the city, and bid "as many as ye shall find." The invitation now has no list at all.
Here the parable swells with hope. The summons that began with a privileged few now runs down every highway -- a foreshadowing of the gospel going to all nations (Matthew 28:19). No one on those roads had earned a place at a royal table; they are invited because the king wants his house full. Whoever you are and wherever the road has taken you, this verse is the king still sending.
