What Does Micah 1:9 Mean?
Samaria's wound has festered beyond healing, and now the same affliction presses south. It has reached the gate of Jerusalem, the threshold of God's own people. Sin left untreated does not stay contained.
The gate is the point of decision, where a city is defended or lost. To say the danger stands at the gate is to say the hour is urgent. Yet a wound called incurable by human reckoning is not beyond God; the one who diagnoses the sickness is also the only Physician who can heal it.
