What Does Micah 5:12 Mean?
Now God turns to spiritual corruptions. He will cut off witchcrafts from their hand and leave no more soothsayers. These were attempts to grasp at hidden power and knowledge apart from God, and they will be purged away.
Turning to sorcery is turning from trust in the living God to manipulation of unseen forces. The Lord removes these counterfeits so that His people will seek Him alone for guidance and help. The cleansing is gracious, clearing out everything that competes with simple, faithful reliance on the God who alone holds the future.
