Paul passes along greetings from Epaphras, who shares his imprisonment for the sake of Christ.

What Does Philemon 1:23 Mean?

As the letter closes, Paul relays greetings from those with him. First is Epaphras, called a fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, a faithful worker who is sharing Paul's confinement for the gospel's sake.

These closing greetings, though brief, show that Paul was not alone. A fellowship of believers surrounded and supported him even in chains, and they remembered Philemon by name from a distance. The verse reminds us that the work of the gospel is never solitary; it is carried forward by a community of faithful friends who suffer, serve, and send their love to one another across the miles.
