Those chosen by God to draw near Him experience profound blessing and fulfillment in His presence.

Context

The blessing of divine selection and intimate access to God's presence.

What Does Psalms 65:4 Mean?

This verse celebrates the joy of being chosen and called into God's presence. 'Causest to approach' suggests an active invitation—God does not wait passively but draws people near. To dwell in His courts means intimate, sustained access to His dwelling place, not mere visiting. The shift from 'the man' to 'we' shows personal privilege becoming communal joy.

Satisfaction comes from experiencing God's goodness directly in His house. The language progresses from courts (outer sanctum) to temple (the holy place itself), indicating deepening intimacy. Blessing here is not material prosperity but relational closeness—knowing God and being known by Him. This dwelling transforms the blessed from visitors into residents of God's household.
