What Does Revelation 13:6 Mean?
The beast now uses the mouth it was given. It blasphemes God directly, attacking his name, his tabernacle or dwelling, and those who dwell in heaven. The assault reaches as high as it can, slandering not only the Most High but the place and the people associated with his presence.
Blasphemy is the attempt to drag down what is holy, to insult the name above every name and the heavenly home where God is honored. But the beast can only speak against heaven, never breach it. Its words betray its true enmity, yet they cannot touch the security of those who dwell with God. The reader learns to expect that the world may mock what is sacred, and to entrust the honor of God's name to God himself, who needs no defense from below.
