Revelation 18:24 Meaning and Explanation

The chapter closes with the gravest charge of all. In Babylon was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and indeed of all who were slain upon the earth. Beneath her luxury and her commerce lay violence; she was stained with the lives of the faithful and of countless others put to death.

Here is the true reason her judgment is just. The shed blood of God's servants and of the innocent did not vanish unseen; it was found, and God answered it. A world that prizes wealth above life will always leave such blood behind, but heaven keeps account. For the persecuted and the slain, this is the promise that their lives are precious to God and never forgotten. And it is the Lamb's own blood, shed and not silenced, that finally overcomes and redeems.
